I was the oldest child of my mother who adored my father, but he was always away working all the time. My sister, two years younger, was encouraged by our mother in her Electra complex in little competitions for … me, including kissing competitions that our mother thought was the cutest thing. I was the man in my sister’s life, even more so after our father died young (I was 15 and she 13) and I began to be away working all the time.
