This is where the HUS women say, “It’s your own fault, you should have chosen better.” Right? I suppose so. 135 Obsidian says: December 7, 2013 at 2:17 pm @K2: Hmm…alright. If you don’t mind my asking, how’d you find your way here? O. 136 Bastiat Blogger says: December 7, 2013 at 2:45 pm BV, amazing post. I hate to follow up such a high-impact, articulate commentary with something this prosaic, but I think that the important takeaway from the SMV debate is this: let’s say that we have a set of personal attributes that are judged to be contributors to a person’s mating value in the marketplace. We then sort those values into two rough sub-categories: A) Attributes that Suffer Time-Decay. These are the personal qualities that are associated with youth. They would tend to be based looks, physical fitness, optimism, N, etc. B) Attributes that Benefit from Elapsed Time. These are the personal qualities that you would expect a relatively older person to have more of than a regularly younger person would have. They would tend to be based on things like rank in a professional hierarchy, accumulated social status markers, useful political connections, and income. If male assessments of female mating value tend to have a *relative* bias towards time-decay assets, and female assessments of male mating value tend to have a *relative* bias towards time-beneficial assets, then you’d simply look at SMV as a dependent performance variable and run it out over time. The result would be two different SMV curves. https://md.bloodyno.se/s/d0aYCRIwG https://doc.sonoj.org/s/odsFOu5Xj https://docs.copincha.org/s/9dGyfUCDg https://hack.utopia-lab.org/s/LFmbKsZYM https://docs.twgrid.org/s/1i1QRzdnN https://hedgedoc.dsor.isr.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/ccpRWeDLTDeRvKKyeGE19g https://pad.pixie.town/s/Rq6blfNbwU https://hedgedoc.dsor.isr.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/s/QQwWXMXnC https://hack.utopia-lab.org/s/pLM3Osy8u https://pad.nantes.cloud/s/7yrCIIhbu https://notes.kocelazoo.cc/s/UyxbgyvofD https://hdoc.shorinryu.org/s/0BrKI5EzG
